Annually appointed by the President/Board of Directors by March 1.

Role Overview:
Serving as an ambassador and liaison for He’e Nalu, the Outreach Chair is crucial in expanding the club’s reach, membership, and presence in the community. 

Responsibilities:

  • Chair: Lead the Outreach Committee. Set meetings and agendas. Run the meetings.
  • Membership Growth: Develop and implement strategies to attract new members. This includes organizing introductory sessions, outreach events, and promotional campaigns.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local schools, community groups, and other organizations to promote the sport and the club.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and foster partnerships with local businesses, sponsors, and other relevant entities to support the club’s growth and activities.
  • Event Participation: Coordinate the club’s participation in community events, fairs, and festivals to raise awareness and attract new members.
  • Social Media and Marketing: Manage and enhance the club’s presence on social media and other marketing channels. Create engaging content that showcases the club’s activities, events, and achievements.
  • Public Relations: Act as a spokesperson for the club in community events and media interactions, effectively communicating the club’s mission and activities.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure outreach efforts are inclusive, welcoming diverse communities to learn about and participate in outrigger canoeing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other club committees to align growth strategies with overall club goals and activities.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Recruit and coordinate volunteers for outreach and growth-related activities.
  • Feedback and Analysis: Collect and analyze feedback from outreach initiatives to measure effectiveness and inform future strategies.
